This is what the reform platform says regarding term limits:

TERM LIMITS

The Reform Party seeks to increase citizen participation in political affairs, and supports:

* Requests for candidate pledges to limit their term of office, regardless of the current laws

* Institution of Term Limits on the House of 3 terms (6 years)

* Institution of Term Limits on the Senate of 2 terms (12 years)

I would rather a lottary than term limits. However term limits mean that at any one time half the senate and a third of the house will be on their last term. In other words, these last term senators and representatives will not have to raise the funding to be re-elected. They will not have to make false promises. Consequently, they are more likely to vote for the good of their country than for what makes their family tens of millions.

I believe most government workers believe they are merely doing a job. They look at their work as a job. They look out for themselves and their family. They look at their benifits, perks and compensations. They don’t even entertain ideas that are theoretically good for lifestyles of democratic people.

A lottary from a pool of applicants with above average reading, math and logic skills is optimal. Term limits, however, is a more viable idea for democratic people. Democratic people have not been brainwashed to accept the idea of a lottary. Democratic people have been brainwashed to accept the concept of term limits. It is a feasible idea and thus gets my nod.

So what! If I had that money I’d start fabulous Utopian cities.

Being wealthy enough not to have creditors at your door is definitely desirable. Being able to own a six room house, have a little income, health insurance, own a car, and have some electronic toys is desirable. Rumor has it that Bill Gates will leave his children only 3 million each. That is optimal! Even 1 million is plenty!

Having “lost” a few times by government perturbation, I have lost the desire for opulent wealth. Opulence is not a status symbol for me. The Forbes 400 have at least 1.3 billion dollars each. Does that bring them happiness? I doubt it. See the gilded mansions of Newport RI some day. The billionaires of that era lived in gold gilded museums that had art imported from Paris and Italy. I am fascinated by their opulent lifestyle. But it would not be for me.

Let me use a billion to build a utopian city state for you all to enjoy. That! That would make me happy! I might fail. But what if I succeeded!?

Duke University, where three lacrosse players were wrongfully accused of rape, will establish a center devoted to training lawyers to fight wrongful convictions. According to president Richard Brodhead, Duke will invest 1.25 million over the next five years for the project at the law school. The project will investigate claims of innocence b the state’s convicted felons and raise awareness of problems in the criminal justice system.

You get my “high five”. What took you so long? Why only 1.25 million over five years?

Robert James “Bobby” Fischer (born March 9, 1943) is a United States-born chess Grandmaster who in 1972 became the only US-born chess player to become the official World Chess Champion.

Fischer’s win in the 1972 World Championship Match was a momentous victory for the United States during the time of the Cold War. Fischer almost single-handedly defeated the mighty Soviet chess establishment that had dominated world chess for the previous quarter-century.

Although Fischer is America’s greatest chess hero, the American government once denied him chess income, via President George H. W. Bush’s Executive Order 12810, and has even revoked his passport. Fischer is now living in political asylum in Iceland. The United States has refused to let Fischer renounce his citizenship.

Twenty years after Fischer’s win in the 1972 World Championship Match, Fischer emerged from isolation to challenge Spassky (then placed 96-102 on the rating list) to a “Revenge Match of the 20th Century” in 1992. This match took place in Sveti Stefan and Belgrade, FR Yugoslavia, in spite of a severe United Nations embargo that included sanctions on sporting events. Fischer demanded that the organizers bill the match as “The World Chess Championship”, although Garry Kasparov was the recognized FIDE World Champion.

The purse for this match was reported to be $US 5,000,000 with two-thirds to go to the winner. The U.S. Department of the Treasury had warned Fischer beforehand that his participation was illegal. In front of the international press, Fischer was filmed spitting on the U.S. order forbidding him to play. Following the match, the department obtained an arrest warrant for him although some dispute the legality of the Department’s claim and question why others who broke the embargo have not been prosecuted. Fischer won the match, 10 wins to 5, with 15 draws.

On July 13, 2004, Bobby Fischer was detained at Narita Airport for allegedly using an invalid U.S. passport while trying to board a Japan Airlines flight to Manila. He left Japan a year later after obtaining asylum in Iceland where he still resides and is presumedly happy.

Followers are rare.

A good follower would say: “That is a great idea!” I will help you.

I’ve seen people say “That is a great idea!” Go do it. So you go do it and they don’t even bother to see what they encouraged you to do.

A passionate follower is really the leader. That is the trick to leadership.

Killing a fellow human is never correct.

Some may die as the result of self-defense (of self, others or a nation), but the deliberate killing of humans is NEVER correct.

Contrast Iraqi invasion I to Iraq invasion II and the difference is night and day, sanity and insanity, Christianity and hypocracy, popular and unpopular, heroic and infamous, life and death.

The first Iraqi effort saved lives.

Wouldn’t a “War on Starvation” have saved more lives at the same cost? If we allow people to die that could have been saved, isn’t that killing?

If we took volunteers from death row and let them save people from starvation, wouldn’t that be proper amends for letting them off death row? Aren’t we killing by doing otherwise?

Wouldn’t it make combat soldiers feel good by distributing food in Africa prior to coming home? Wouldn’t it make them feel totally heroic?
